  1. Resumes or CVs are applications for jobs. Yes, some people are hunted and recruited without having applied for a position. The rest of us need apply. So, why are you sending this CV or resume to someone or business or such? The objective allows the receiver to know what this paper is all about or 'what for'.  


  2. Usually, no. They know what you are applying for because of the application and they want to know what makes you good for the job, not the fancy way you word the job you want.

  3. No. It is at your own discretion. When your credentials and job history give the impression that you could have several career goals, it can be helpful to a potential employer to clarify your intentions. It can be a nice addition if worded correctly. I would google resume objectives for some examples. You may find one you can modify to suit you.
