Is the occupation of a pediaitrician respectable in today's society?

I have dreamed of becoming a pediatrician since I was a little 4th grader. I am now a 10th grader and have the same ambitions. Is this occupation a good choice, especially with the different events that manifest the true face of our society? Thanks for answering!

i thnk so, my mom is a pediatrician. No one has a problem with that and alot of people, espicially those with kmids, tell her how awesome that is. Plus it pays well...
