This is really a question of perspective. Here's what I mean:

Of course the Ouija board is real. It is detectable by all 5 senses.

But if the real question is, does it have any supernatural powers, or is it controlled by supernatural forces, the answer is almost always, no.

The vast majority of "supernatural" experiences with the Ouija board occur in groups of people- usually three or more. The actual dynamics of what happens quite common.

Think of what happens when a large fight breaks out. Afterward, nobody can remember who started it. Or at least, there are many different accounts of what happened. Even if the fight only lasted a few seconds.

In principle, this is what is happening with the Ouija board. Everyone is adding input into a system expecting it to move. When it does move, it may not move in the direction anyone expects because the ultimate expression of that motion is the sum of all the input. Thus, every person playing may actually believe he/she is not actually causing the pointer to move. It can truly seem to have a 'life of its own'!

But in reality, it is simply a toy that plays upon simple group dynamics for its entertainment value. That is what has made it such a popular object for so long- the fact that it is rooted in simplicity.

Encounters with these sorts of toys can produce all kinds of emotion. Adding a spooky atmosphere and music can heighten these effects. It can even be fun at times. But it's like a magic trick. Often times, these sorts of things are more fun when we don't understand how they work- because then, they can still capture our imaginations.

As a side note, you should know that there are many people who believe that the Ouija board is a conduit for supernatural and even evil forces. Many hold fast to this belief, even in the face of evidence to the contrary.

To this, I can only say that if there truly are evil forces out there determined to do us harm, I think they'd have better means of attacking us than through a child's toy. And- if by some crazy chance that I am wrong, then I still don't think that I would be very scared of any evil force whose power was limited to a board game.

it isnt smart to play with it. we burned ours and got a horrible feeling. really wierd stuff happened around the house to.

While I have no personal experience with Qija Boards and I never will, but I know several people personally, who have and I have seen several people who have required deliverences from evil spirits.  It is not pleasant to watch, but the joy of the freedom that it provides is.  The devil does exist and not alone.  Just as God has his angels (who really do exist) so too does the devil have his followers and power they have and not to do good but to do harm- to offer false hopes, to have people follow what they believe to be true and therefore giving false messages of the future.  Using Qija Boards etc opens yoou are to the demonic world and offers them opportunity to attach themselves to you.  So my advice is leave the dead to the dead, pray for them and live for the living.  God is in control.  If you want to know more or have any questions about what you have read feel free to message.

No, the ouija board is not controlled by the devil.  The ouija board is just a game that you can buy in most toy stores and department stores, an ordinary piece of wood or plastic or cardboard.  It is meant for two or more players so it will not work very well if you try to use it alone.  It has no supernatural powers.  It does not communicate with the dead and it does not contact spirits.  It does not open any portals to the underworld or to anywhere else.  The people using the ouija board make it work through ideomotor movement.  It plays on your mind and imagination and your susceptibilities and beliefs and fears.  It can be scary because the imagination is a powerful thing, and can make you believe just about anything.  Here are a couple of links that discuss ouija boards and how to use them.
