Question:

Is the outlet to my fridge not working properly?

The milk in my fridge kept going bad after a few days so we bought a new fridge (even though our old one was only 4 years old). We have had it for a week and have already thrown out two gallons of milk that have gone sour in the new fridge as well. We can't figure out what is going on. Could our outlet not be pulling enough electricity? We have never caught it off or warm. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

  1. If everything else is cold in your fridge, you might want to buy your milk from another store.

  2. Check the breaker to see if it is hot while the compressor is running(blowing cold air), it should be an independent circuit meaning its the only outlet on that line and it's not on a light switch anywhere. If not probably not the electric. Buy a 2-dollar thermometer and check temperature in fridge, check the manufacturers data.

  3. Check the temp inside the fridge it should be below 40 degrees F. If its not adjust the thermostat.

  4. Get a fridge thermometer. Set the fridge temperature to like 37 degrees. See if the milk goes sour again. Check the milk and see if it's sour when you buy it.

  5. I bet its the milk not the refrigerator.
