  1. The shock to those who only know the results of the last sports game will bring down others . The eye opening events to reality to those not prepared and still feel entitled will bring down society .

  2. Dear Sly Fox...

Yes... perhaps it is time for "last call for alcohol..."

We are faced with many difficult times in our lives as beings ourselves... indeed as a society and as a planet.

It is hard to say what the next ten years will bring... as it would have been difficult to predict the last ten years... let alone the next twenty.  It is true that there are many serious individuals working on this problem of energy... and conservation of natural resources... it is interesting to nota bene that Easter Island was once a vibrant paradise according to what i have read.

Ultimately, what will happen to our planet that we call home... and ourselves as a race and as individuals is greatly affected by our "mass consciousness"  and as a result... any efforts that one makes as an individual to raise their consciousness affects the whole.

Chief Seattle said, "Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves."

We would posit that any constructive steps that we can do in our own lives can have a dramatic effect on the whole... and if the consciousness of our planet is raised enough... "hoo knows what miracles God will wrought."

As a voice of hope... i would remind you that "it is always darkest before the dawn" and that alludes to the "dark night of the soul" ... perhaps we as a planet are going through a similar time(s)... as a race and as individuals.

    thank you for your posts.

best wishes and warm regards always!

  3. thank you for another great question the party is not over for the rich people until there the last drop of oil is burnt on this planet and even other planets if they can reach it. they are greedy and only think of themselves now and care-less what may happen in future. even if they care about their children they will some how justify their action or inaction in this case since all they care about is the maximum profit at this time and place. they don't have any incentives to invest and divert the already petroleum depended industries. also the majority of the world have not started to party and/ or never been invited to these parties. the only chance for us is to take over the power out of the hands of the few since we have more incentive to do what is best and start investing in our future by converting all the industries from military incentive to a civilian incentive industries. this way we all can have little parties with very little waste for a long time to come!  peace

  4. It is not like there is no fall back energy plans, it is just that while it is still around a few folks intend to make a bundle.

Tesla invented a device to collect energy from cosmic rays about a hundred years ago for peats sake and I see backyard engineers getting limited results on hobby budgets.

You can not tell me that a couple MIT grads with serious funding could not crank out some useful alternatives.

Of course this is not how I would want me to think if I already controlled the limited resource of fossil fuels.

Problem is that I am just one person and though I am sure there are probably other people that can see past the bs and realize that the world is not going to grind to a halt when we rund out of oil but the trouble is I do not know where to go to get active and demand productive solutions.

I mean if there were enough of us demanding change that would have to make a difference right?

I am open to any sugestions.

  5. Thanks for the link - hilarious and quite frightening at the same time.

    Sean.thurston has it right.

  6. (sigh)

Why do people have real time short term memory or is that people refuse to believe/accept past mistakes.

Alternative energies were sought after since early 80's. Farmers(remember them) were asked to participate, so many planted other then livelihoods on the presumption that their product would be used, then the Government pulled the plug and many nearly folded, hence (save the farmer) remember Willie Nelson....

Electric cars and a revamp of coal mining all shot down, when the Iran/Iraq situation was thought under control. We failed to deliver on Korea and Iran(we thought the world would help), yet the world did not promise either alternative assistance, it was us and no one could match the dollar. England sold out so their was no need for England to participate, it was too busy in other parts of the world... look into our denials and you will see the choices/chances we passed up.

    .

Seriously, do people think Brazil is out producing US in alternative fuels, yes they have the lead and we are trying to work out a deal for us to be the major buyers - N O T.

    .

Yes, alternatives are just as cheap if not cheaper then war. All that $$ spent in Iraq and we would have some energy conservatation already...

    .

http://www.naturalgas.org/naturalgas/ext... with this history, are we to beleive that our technology has not improved drilling and production methods..... who are we fooling.

  7. I've watched this stand up two times already, he is simply brilliant.  The Party is Definately Over.

  8. Everything that he says on that clip is 100 percent right. We need to do something now before it is too late. I'm afraid that we are going to starve and live in utter poverty unless we do something. But to be honest people are too short sighted. IMO this will turn into warfare...but on a larger scale involving nukes.

  9. the sky is falling we're all going to die blah blah blah i've been listening to doomsday scenarios my whole life and i have never been better off than i am today. i am confident that in ten years i will be better off than i am today. i wish just once the media would focus on the positive instead of trying to scare the c**p out of everyone. someone is going to make a fortune finding a cheaper way to get my V8 from point a to point b and i hope i have the insight to invest in that sucker, heck it will probrably be the good people at exxon, and boy am i glad i bought that stock back when everyone thought tech would go up forever and kept telling me to invest there.
