Is the payphone Dead?

has the payphone become extinct beacause of all of the cell phones on the world?

Before I got my cell phone I had to use pay phones and almost everytime they would not work. Just when I needed them the most everyone I tried to use would not work and boy was I mad. I think they will be around for awhile in airports and bus stations and places like that but the ones on the road just don't work very often. But they will be here for awhile yet. Good question!

as of 2 weeks ago, AT&T annoced that due to the cell phone they rae pulling all there pay phones out of their location, some private companies may leave their put but AT&T is getting out of the service, they said with cell phones it is no longer cost effective for them to have them anymore

there are still plenty of them around, but we don't really look at them anymore!!
