Is the pcv valve useful to hook up if it was never done before?

ihave a 79 350 with a 750cfm holley 4150 and the pcv valve was never hooked up some one told me it would let the motor run better is this tru

You might want at least a breather if you don't want the PCV valve its just there to relive pressure so you don't blow out all your seals.

i disconected mine on an 84 and i got worse gas milage.

a pcv valve will help to extent the life of the oil by pulling the fuel vapors out of the crank case and directing them back into the engine. in doing this, the pcv valve will also improve your fuel economy.
