Is the pedometer on elliptical correct?

I have one and it says I run a mile in a like 5 minutes. I have never ran a mile this fast. The fastest I ran was like 8 or 9 minutes.

  1. No. The elliptical distance is not comparable to treadmill distance or outdoor distance.  I'd ignore it.  A better measure of the intensity of an elliptical workout is to use time and heart rate.
