  1. Somewhat.  The phrase 'through the prism of' has become popular lately to describe a particular group's (usually political) way of looking at or 'viewing' a subject.

    If you've ever looked at a prism held up to light, you know the wide spectrum of colors to be seen.  To then label that prism you are looking through, that colors what you see, with a belief system like secularism, is to say that examining, focusing, 'viewing' ANY subject - be it citizenship, personal responsibility, the role of the Supreme Court, just about any topic that affects our way of life - through that starting position of secularism, colors everything.

    Which is true.  Your belief systems do influence your opinions on how life should be lived and how we should be governed.
