  1. Well... I don't know you so i will not sugar coat it. Your question is basically,"Hyundai is selling a car with 4 wheels for $10k, but i know there are Mercedes out there that also have 4 wheels, which one is better?"

I've worked Home Theater for 6 years and have seen all the types of TV brands. Polaroid is not on the top 10. It's a descent TV and it's a great price, but the parts in the TV are not very durable, usually after about 500 hours of running it gives you problems. Honestly I'd stick with a Samsung, Sony, Pioneer, and LG. They are more likely to last you a long time as long as you stay away from the Vivid/Dynamic picture settings. Those tend to push the TV to the limit and hurt it in the long run. Manufacturers do that because they sell better in the store. Hope this helps and that I didn't come off as a jerk. Let me know if you have ay other questions.

P.S. The TVs I recommended have a contrast ration of 5,000:1 up to 10,000:1.

  2. Consumer Reports rates it a 61 out of 100 & says their dvd picture quality is Fair try Samsung, Sharp, or Sony.

  3. Well, you've heard two opinions now.  Your best bet is to go to Google or Yahoo and type "Reviews, (yours set model No.)" and see what many reviewers have to say about that particular set.  Then you can make some kind of a reasonable decision to buy or not.

  4. It's cheap c**p! No other way to put it. It's one of the third tier, disposable, junk TVs. Don't just stay away, run away. See, http:www.hdguru.com/your-new-disposable-...

Buy cheap, buy twice. Go for quality and reliability. Check out the Consumer Reports HDTV articles in the 11/07 and 3/08 issues. You can read them free at your local public library.
