  1. The Popper jump cue is great for close jumps, like within a couple ball widths of the blocking ball.  You can get the cue ball up and down quickly because of the light weight.  However, it's not something I'd pull out of my case for most game situations.  I've usually used the Stinger, mostly because it's a jump/break so it's more convenient just to carry one cue that can do two jobs.  But I also like the Scorpion jump cue and Chilton's Flying Eagle (see Reference).  I think most jump cues work though, nothing's going to be magical, and all of them take a little bit of practice to get your stroke and touch down and to learn what you can and can't do with it.

  2. i disagree with jumpcues all together, as i can jump a ball very well with my playing cue, which i don't believe is fair, if a jumper plays a great jumpout safety ( that only a great jumper of the ball with his playing stick can excuite the safety he has set up ), and someone pulls out a jumpcue, and easially hops right over it without much skill. and for example i see efren play many great safetys, where only a jumpcue could get it up and down fast enough to escape his masterful safety by poping right over it easially with a jump cue, arggggg lol petpeve of mine. i will never play a money match against a jumpcue, unless it is a tourny that allows them which the ipt does not allow them  (kudos to the IPT for recognizing that and not allowing it:)  ).  im not a player of artistic or trickshot competitions, so im not talking about the jumpcue in that sport. which in my opinion i would like to see that sport make you use your playing cue, so the true jumper with the most skill will prevail more, and let the cream rise to the top.

  3. The Porper is a good jump cue , I own a Lucasi Jumper but wish I had head of the "Stinger" first , A well known BCA certified instructor by the name of Tom Simpson markets them , He gave a clinic on jumping at the Derby City Classic a couple of years ago and showed me the right way to jump with one, I really like the balance and weight of the "Stinger" compared to other cues I have jumped with ! Get the "Stinger" !
