  1. I think you mean the Euro not the pound. If you mean the Euro, then the Euro would worth more than the Peso. The website below will convert your currency for you.

    Monday, April 14, 2008

    1 Euro = 16.68344 Mexican Peso

1 Mexican Peso (MXN) = 0.05994 Euro (EUR)

    Interbank rate +/- 0%

    This means:

You buy 1 Euro :     16.68344 Mexican Peso

You sell 1 Euro :     16.60876 Mexican Peso

You buy 1 Mexican Peso :     0.05994 Euro

You sell 1 Mexican Peso :     0.06021 Euro

    Median price = 16.60876 / 16.68344 (bid/ask)

Estimated price based on daily US dollar rates.

  2. Im a British expat living here in mexico and you would be better coming here and changing your money here as currently at the HSBC in Mexico city the pound is currently going at 22 pesos for one pound. the mexican peso is strongly linked to the american dollar so if the dollar goes up so does the peso etc. etc.

check at your banks in England and the travel agents at the time of flying and if you can get a better deal than 22 pesos for one pound I would do that, if not you would be better to change your money in mexico as I have lived here for 3 years, 2 of those in cancun and I have never seen the pound drop below 22 pesos

  3. You will get 18 or 19 pesos from the banks and Casa de Cambio.

A bottle of beer costs between $10 pesos and $40.pesos

The short answer is "One heck of a lot further than in the u.k

  4. Yes - your pound will go very far in Mexico!

  5. Last time i was in mexico-febuary 2008 the exchange rate was 22 pesos to the pound, though i think the rate has dropped since and is now roughly about 20. Although changing pounds stirling outside mexico city can be difficult(no problems there though) so have some dollars handy,as any bank/casa de cambio will change them.(We english dont have euros!).

  6. You will get 20 pesos because the peso is 10.2 or 10.4 per US dollar. The pound is about 2 dollars here in the US.

You will have great purchasing power there because everything is cheap. In mexico city, I would get a bucket of beer and some durritos (a type of fried pork rind) for 45 pesos.

In my mom's town, the beer there is 10-20 pesos and the cocktails are no more than 40.

I went there for 2 weeks and spent no more than 150 pounds.

  7. yh it is strong against the mex peso, but riviera maya is very expensive and many things are paid in usd and as a tourist, ppl will expect you to pay in usd too. however the peso can be used. be careful with ppl who want to charge you more.

it depends on the time you want to stay there and where. have you checked everything out with a travel agent?

    i hope it helps
