Is the president and family the only one who lives in the white house?

Where does the vice president live? What types of rooms are in the white house? How could it be like a home?

Yes, the president and family live at the whitehouse.  The whitehouse is also where the president and his direct staff work.  The whitehouse does have an office for the VP.

Yes just the president and his family. The VP residence is at the national observatory.

Living quarters are on the second floor. The VP has a room for an back-up office there.
