Is the price of a gram of gold the same price as a gram of flake gold?

wanting to assess if a gram of sold gold is priced less or more than a a gram flake gold.

  1. There is a base price for gold, which fluctuates constantly.  You can check it online here:

    That price is for gold bullion, in bars.

    Gold wire, gold leaf, gold flake, and gold jewelry are all gold, but all involve a certain amount of processing and/or artistry, which will cost you extra.

  2. Gold has a value per gram that dictates the price we pay. Flake gold has been further processed therefore there is added value or cost for it and you would pay more as a result. 1oz of gold bullion sells for US$932.29 at present. If you bought 1oz of flake gold you would pay more for it. If you bought a 24k (pure gold)  necklace that weighed 1oz you would probably pay in excess of US$2,500.00 for it.
