No prices are different. You have all the good brands here. The Dominican cigars are much better than the Cuban cigars.

Davidoff is made here (near Santiago) and you can find all brands in the REAL cigars shops ( Monte Cristo.......) But!

Take care about copy's! Some brands are sold and are fake!

I know about it because my VIP's buy's the real ones on my special cigar trip (unique). The price about 3,5 times cheaper than in the USA. Enjoy your cigar!

I disagree with Happy Feet's statement that Dominican sticks are much better than Cuban's - they are excellent, but not necessarily  better.  Just as there are excellent Honduran and Nicaraguan sticks - they are not any better, just different.  

That being said, cigars in the tourist areas and hotels will be expensive - as they are in any tourist area.  Many DR brands found in the US will not be available as they are made in "Free Trade Zones" expressly for export.  

Reputable cigar shop prices are comparable to what you will find in the US.  In other words, forget about finding dirt cheap OpusX or Anejos.  

La Aurora and Leon Jimenes sticks can be found everywhere - they seem to be the 'domestic' brand found  in the DR.  You can tour the La Aurora factory and find those smokes cheaper than you can in the US.

On the beaches, fakes abound - forget about even thinking of buying 'Cuban' cigars from someone who comes up to you with cheap boxes.
