Question:

Is the probability of getting a round seed independent of the probability of getting a green seed?

Or are they dependant uppon each other. I don't think they are but I want to hear what you all think.

  1. I agree with you.  Different genes. (Unless they happen to be close together on the same chromosome, in which case any correlation between them will be inherited, although not with 100% efficiency.)


  2. Yes, these two traits are independent.  When traits are not independent, the genes that cause them are linked.  Mendel experienced a little bit of luck when he found his pea plant traits because all he ended up using were unlinked with each other.
