Is the property manager not interested in giving us an apartment?

Back in late June, me and my roommate decided to move into a better apartment in a better part of town that is closer to school. These apartments turned out to be really nice and we both decided to submit our applications. Mine came back with a couple of blemishes, nothing serious. But my roommate's came back just fine. We called him again and he told us that we got it! Anyways, it's almost September and I call every other week to follow up and nothing seems to be opened. We were on the waiting list and he told us we should be next. But is he being shaddy about things? I wonder if we truely got the apartment and I am sure he'lll let us know right??

  1. .     Buy him lunch.  While eating, say "You won't hurt my feelings if you don't intend to rent to me.  I won't sue you.  I just need to know if you have made a decision not to rent to me"

  2. Any landlord or property managers' goal is to keep his/her property fully rented.  The likely reason he hasn't returned your calls is because an opening has not become available.  After all if the apartments are as nice as you described them it doesn't sound like anyone is in a hurry to leave.  Still I suggest you keep calling to show your continued interest.  Good Luck!
