Is the question "asl plz ?" perfect enough to help you to decide if someone is eligible to chat with you?

I think it sucks, because many times I get rude replies.

U seems to be in need and when the others donot think they need you, they hit you back. thats good because they are not good bets for chatting any way, if they can be so rude. :) Isn't it?

But, in any chat room, a new comer has this problem especially if you are a begginner. as there are groups, regular guys chilling out with friends.

What to do.. do not initiate one to one chat for some time. see if there is any open topic being discussed, and participate. you need to be quick and smart to let the room know bt your presence.

having done that, people start making a guess bt you, and then they will respond you, atleast not be rude. and take some time before asking ASL, from teh nickname, you can guess the gender, rest can be asked in some time. and whatever the answer is, you never know its true.

Remember they are human on other side. they may not behave same in person, but online.. chalta hai.

It's not a perfect question to decide that if someone is eligible to chat with you or not because a lot of people don't tell the truth when asl is asked. So, I don't think that it's a really good question but it's not bad either. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't help.
