It is not necessary.  In tatkal you can buy your ticket for any destination.  Generally tatkal is available on specified trains and can be purchased from any station.  Now, days the rule of before 24 hrs has been changed and tatkal tickets can also be purchased one week before the schedule of departure.  Kindly get it verified for the time period for purchase it might have increased as government is getting more revenue and people wants fully confirmed tickets and they do not mind to pay 300 extra per ticket.

well. lalooji has been clever enough (to increase the railway revenue) to change tatkal rules. now you need to pay for the entire journey of originating station to terminating station irrespective of where u board & depart. lets say if you are travelling via tamil nadu express (new delhi to chennai central) & boarding at say bhopal & getting down at warangal. you'll need to pay for new delhi to chennai sector.

tatkal is payin charge from train src to destination..

but u can board train from ne intermediate station..  

tatkal tkt can be issued from newhere in india for any train...
