Is the "We only use 10% of our brain" a myth or fact?

  1. Its a myth.  It came from the fact that a famous scientist said only one out of every 10 nerve cells is firing a neron at a time.  This does not in fact mean that the other nine are not recieving a neron at the same second.

  3. Well, you use all of your brain, just not for thinking. You use it to move and see and feel, etc..  

  4. I think that it is just a myth.  And think of it this way, if the scientists who came to that conclusion were only using ten percent of their brains can you really trust them?

    At the time the research was done that pointed to this theory, it doesn't seem to be noticed that at any given time *different* parts of our brains are active. We use the full brain, but not 100% of the time. So we use all of our brain, but certain functions are done at certain times, and not all of it is active at once.
