  3. I have spent a lot of time in spain and I speak spanish.  I have never heard anyone make a derogatory comment about someone just because they are black.  This is not to say that people in Spain don't have problems with racism.  I have heard negative comments made about muslims and, strangley, about latin americans.  The anti-muslim sentiment is worse in other areas of europe but increased greatly in spain after the train bombings and a lot of spaniards view latin americans much as many americans do, sadly, as servants who should stay out of civic issues.  On the whole, however, I have never gotten the impression that Spain is a very racist country like I get from the US or France, for example.  Particularly, if you are going to Barcelona, you have little to worry about.

  4. don't worry! you're going to have the best time, just be open . People will be likely to treat you as if you were friends already, if anything you might not want to come back once you see for yourself, have a great time!

  5. No way, if you stay away from dangerous areas like every other country, and if your skin color is dark they will find you very attractive and s**y so I do.

Spain is one of the friendliest countries in the world among Mexico and Latin America
