Is the really no metro/ subway system in California?

  1. Not a state-wide metro/subway system. But San Francisco area has both a metro and a subway to serve the Bay Area.

  3. The Bay Area has a rail/subway system called BART.  Los Angeles has Metro Rail, which is fairly limited with only 3 rail lines and 1 subway line, and Metrolink, which is an intercity commuter system for people living in the suburbs going to LA.  

    There are also Amtrak trains for longer distances (LA to San Diego, for example).

    people tend to think of that city by city

    (like yes San Franacisco does have BART which in some case

    is a subway its also a metro rail system at the same

    time

    in Los Angeles the Red line and Purple line are

    subways yet the Green line, Gold Line, and blue line

    are metro rail systems
