  1. If you held on long enough it can cause serious brain damage. The 1st 6-9 seconds the person will most likely go unconscious, if depending on how tight he held it. After that, brain damage, after that possible death.

  2. Any of the three types of chokes is dangerous. The three types are:

    1) Blood Chokes

    2) Air Chokes

    3) Combination Chokes (cut off the blood flow and the breathing)

  3. It's potentially dangerous if don't know what you're doing. You can choke a person to death if you're not careful.

  4. If you're the guy in it.

That Guy is absolutely right.  Left on too long it could lead to brain damage or death.

  5. Not as dangerous as one of my secret attack moves.  By the way, if blood stops flowing to the brain, I think it's a pretty safe bet that will kill someone.  In general, you know, like when THE PART OF YOUR BODY THAT TELLS EVERYTHING ELSE WHAT TO DO CAN'T FUNCTION ANYMORE, it is curtains for that person.

  6. yeah it can definitely kill a person thats why its a choke.

  7. Yes.  Especially if the Tori holds it too long, or does it incorrectly and crushes the trachea.  The technique is a carotid choke and not a wind-pipe strangle.

  8. Actually there are two seperate types of "Rear naked choke" one is a blood choke and the other is air.  The air choke is is applied with the blade of the forearm from about the area of between your wrist to half way up your forearm ( inside forearm ) and in the manner of a rear naked choke.  The other is the blood choke where the throat rest in the inside bend of the elbow.  The rear naked choke for jujitsu self-defense is taught in the manner of the air choke.  The blood choke is a sport style MMA choke.  The air choke maybe cause a person's airways to completely collapse if enough pressure is applied during this choke.  The blood choke gives a referee enough time to see a contestant passing out from lack of blood to the brain.  The air choke could accidentally cause collapse of the air way and a need for a tracheotomy for any one choked with it.  These two entirely different techniques are one of the little suddelties between sport jujitsu and self-defense jujitsu and yes a blood choke can kill a person if applied for the duration that would cause eventual death.  The air choke, however, is way more dangerous and brutal.

  9. i cant believe you would even ask that
