Is the registering a patent online secure?

I don't really know. I am sure that there are sites imitating the patent office. I think it should be though, due to the fact that the material is confidential and you are paying for a license that prohibits reproduction of that specific item.

It even says on the websites FAQ-General-Miscellaneous that "All communications between the end user’s computer and the USPTO are encrypted and stored in a secure USPTO database."
