The original question along these lines was closed before I could get to it, but I didn't see a single good answer to it. Personally, if I break 100 it's a VERY good day. But my lack of talent doesn't mean I can't have an opinion! Yes, these guys are extremely talented, but is Tiger really that much better. You can't play at their level if you're a "slacker", or "complacent". But no, Tiger is not that much more talented than the rest. Anyone who plays the game at ANY level knows the game is largely mental, and Tiger has these guys intimidated. They don't believe they can beat Tiger when he is playing well, so they choke. Now "choking" for them means 2 under for the round when 4 under would have won it, but until they believe they can beat Tiger, none of them will be able to do it on any sort of regular basis.

  1. Ninety percent of the game is half mental!

Tiger can win a golf tournament or he can lose it.  He can't be beaten if he is playing well.  Like last weekend's 22 foot putt on the 18th hole to win it when he hadn't made one over 20 feet in any of the 4 days!

When he is confident of how he is playing he has the mental makeup to believe he can win.

Other players don't choke always. Tiger is the best!

  3. One of the biggest advantages that Tiger takes to the course with him is his mental game.  He is totally focused at all times.  This why you don't see many smiles on his face during the round.  And, this is intimidating to the competition, especially when they don't equally prepare themselves.

  4. What was the exact "original question" to which you are referring and when was it posted? I'd like to see what the original responses were. Thanks
