  1. No - natural brown rice is not processed.  Rice-a-roni is processed significantly.

  2. The sodium comes from the artificial flavorings.  Much like in Ramen noodles the starch on its on isn't all that bad for you but when you stir in the "flavor packet" your stirring in half your weeks worth of sodium.

  3. NO,Rice-a-roni is not brown rice & it does contain sodium.

Brown rice is whole grain rice; unprocessed, so healthier.

  4. Rice o Roni is not brown rice.  Brown rice is healthy and contains no sodium.

  5. Rice o roni might have brown rice in it, but no, it is not considered a brown rice. Brown rice on its own is absolutely healthy, but when it's processed the way ROR is, it will have sodium. Better to get the Uncle Ben's or something similar that doesn't have all the seasonings and flavor it on yr own.

I use a japanese brown rice that has a chewy texture that I like. Try different kinds to see what you like. Also, don't confuse it with wild rice. They are 2 different things.
