Is the safe to eat?!?

ok theres this cheese left out of the fridge for hours (like 12+)

i really think its not safe to eat (i wont eat it lol)

but what will happen if i do eat it? (risks etc.)

im askin this cuz im bored lol!!!

It's probably fine.  Stick it back in the fridge.

When I was in college, I used to bake Stouffer's family size macaroni and cheese (which was too big for the fridge) and leave it out on the dining table for a week while I picked at it and I never got sick.  Yeah, eww, I know, and I wouldn't recommend it, but the point is it didn't do any harm.

While most common bacteria reproduce / double every 20 minutes or so, most bacteria also aren't pathogenic, so on the off-chance something's growing a bit, it's probably something your immune system can handle.

AND cheese is made by exposing milk to bacteria anyway, and heck, blue cheese IS moldy cheese by definition.

So, unless you're immuno-compromised, or you have someone sick walking around your house coughing, or you can see/smell anything wrong with the cheese or you also didn't mention that you dropped the cheese in the kitty litter then ...

I say chow down.

You'll get sent to another deminsion called cheese land where you will become ruler of the cheese people. They'll ask you to save them from the evil mouse Gorgonzola where you'll plan to kill him by creating a cheese trap. Unfortunatly he'll eat his way out and since you rule cheese land you have no real weapons only cheese weapons. Things look grim until you leave cheese outside to rot and then the rat will eat it and get sent to another demension filled with cheese, but it won't be your problem anymore, so who cares. Either that or you'll eat the cheese and get a stomach ache, and maybe throw up. Not sure which one.
