    Women show respect for men in many other ways, so why shouldn't men show women some respect like this? It's a small gesture but would be greatly appreciated by a girl like me.

  8. Since the MEN invented that, along with the other double standards of how men and women should be, it's their own fault if it's unfair.  Women did not invent that concept, so I guess it's yet another dumb thing men came up with without thinking, and they are now regretting it.

  13. It's not fair to anyone. It implies that women are to be coddled by men, and that men deserve whatever less.

  14. I'm OK with ladies being first.  That does not include feminists since they're supposed to be for equality.   They shouldn't get any more preferential treatment than a man.

    Men would say that as a sign of respect to women because men had most of the power. I was a mans job to do everything.
