Is the scion tc a good car for a teen?

i want to get a scion tc, but my parents prefer a xterra or montero. what are some great qualities about the tc that i can tell my parents. safety wise and gas mileage

mileage is much better on the tc because it has a smaller engine. i dont know too much about safety but since they are farely new on the market they should have very good safety measures in case of an accident. bring up the fact that the xterra and montero are both tall SUV's that result in rollover crashes. in fact, if you look inside most any suv of that size, i believe on the passengers side on the sun visor there should be a big caution sticker that says the vehicle is prone to tipping. i know this to be true for jeep wranglers but not sure of any else. also bring up that the engine size is a huge difference between a small car and an suv. suv will 100% cost more in gas and probably insurance too. suv's also need a longer distance to stop so while they are bigger and can take more of a beating in an accident, a more nimble car like the TC may be able to avoid the crash altogether. good luck! im in the same situation with my parents. trying to sell my truck and get a firebird or camaro.
