Is the septum piercing supposed to be one of the most painful piercings?

(i know quite a few things about piercings already, so you don't have to tell me that it hurts anyway.)

recently, i had my septum pierced and it hurt REALLY BAD. also, it was not straight so i did it twice, but still it wasn't... so eventually, i took it out because i was frustrated...

nevermind, the piercer told me it's one of the most painful piercings, but some other sources tell me that if done correctly, it's not that painful. also, the moment the needle is going through, you aren't supposed to feel like you want to sneeze (if done correctly), but i did feel like this.

so, my point is, did that guy pierce my septum wrong and i paid for nothing or was it my fault for taking it out?

i would appreciate if you know what you're talking about! thanks!

  1. i cant answers about how you should feel because i have not got this piercing.

however if the piercing wasn't straight, the piercer was in the wrong and should short it for you. But since you took it out i doubt they will do much, go back and see them...they might redo it...(free), but if you're not comfortable with the studio i suggest you let it heal and go else where.

    good luck!

  2. If it's EXCRUCIATING, then it looks like he didn't piercer your "sweet spot." (or maybe you don't have a sweet spot.)

A sweet spot is... feel the septum part of your nose, there should be a part where the skin is a lot thinner and doesn't feel like bone. That's your sweet spot!
