Restaurant service better or worse in Australia compared to America ?

P.S I don't eat out for the service I eat out for the food, and occasionally to look at the waitresses bum. The waitress can thrown the plate at me and call me fatty for all I care, but the food better be good and it would be nice every one and a while if she had a nice bum for me to look at.

  1. Zagats.com will give you service rating in both countries, Mate.

  2. I've had friends work there and they made like $20 an hour, but tipping is not as common,so i would say service might not be as good, because, why bust your butt,if no one is going to tip.I'm not saying they purposely do a bad job but why would you stress and kick into that higher gear that is sometimes required

  3. It's probably better. The people there don't expect tips like Americans do, and the waitresses aren't as bratty or immature. As for the person above who said they didn't understand the jargon, hello, you're not Aussie, it's not your fault! But yes, the burgers are nasty there, don't ever get them, stick to the chicken.

  4. We found Australia to be very similar in our experiences when eating out. What hung us up what the differences in the way food was prepared, for example, hamburgers served with an egg on them. also, some of the jargon was hard to follow but that was ignorance on our part.
