No i believe it is a real competetion if it was fake chance would still be on there

i think it's real.

but some of it may be made up or planned for drama so the viewers are more interested in the show.

No,its just your typical drama filled,money hungry,reality show has been kind of show.They do shows like that so they can keep getting publicity so they don't  have to face real life.But I must say,its highly entertaining.
