Is the show "The Hills" really a reality show?

To me that show seems VERY scripted, it's REALLY different then all of the other reality shows, I mean I know that most reality shows are at least a little bit scripted but I mean that show seems full on scripted to me, I remember the first time I saw the show and didn't know that it was a reality show, I thought it was scripted

Its quasi real.

The people are playing themselves but there is a script.

It's "loosely" scripted.

It's done in the same way as Laguna Beach.

Most of it is not scripted.it is just because most of what happens the camera is not there to capture the moments,so that's when the scripting comes in.but most of what happens on the show happens in reality.

the people are playing themselves and they've admitted that some of the scenes are 'restaged and shot' because the cameras weren't around when the actual incident happened.  personally, i don't think it's scripted as those people aren't that good at acting.
