Is the shure se530 earphones worth the money?

im looking to buy some new earphones and i think the shure se530's are the best but i don't know so if you know of an better tell me! and also are the shure se530's worth the money?

i wouldnt buy them i would boy bosse there good for blocking out noise and they will proberly cost less than se530

Hi. I am in the same predicament. I own a pair of se310's and they are great. But I am thinking of upgrading to the se530's.

The bass is a little limited on the se310's but still very good as they  only have 1 hi-def micro speaker and 1 Tuned Bass Port. The se530 on the other hand have Triple TruAcoustic Microspeakers which I have to say are fantastic. I have had a chance to test them and they really do blow the se310's out of the water. They are a lot bigger than the 310's as they have to pack a lot more gear in.

Having said this, spending upwards of £200, you do really need to get the most out of your music by making sure that the music you burn/convert to mp3 is at a high bit rate. (presuming you will use for portable mp3/ipod)  Most mp3 is at roughly 190bit but to get the best out of the se530 you will need to be atleast 240 bit if not higher.

These earphones are great and very expensive. If you deceide to go ahead and buy then you can get a very good deal on ebay.com. Our american 'cousins' do get things a lot cheaper and at the moment you can get a set for £150 + postage (£20).

If you just want a decent pair of very good in ear phones then the se310 are the smallest in the range and very good. You can get these for £109 on amazon.co.uk. (and they come in black which is good as the se530 dont,  they are black and bronze!)

In responce to your other answer, I personally find the bose less comfortable, plus the shure range if fitted correctly will drastically reduce outside noise by about 85%. You have to be very carefull walking about wearing them as you wont be able to hear anything apart from your music. I even use them as ear plugs on flights!
