Is the sims 2 compatible with windows vista?

I got the sims 2 ages ago and i have recently got a windows vista laptop, will the sims 2 still work on it though?

according to the game case it is only compatable with windows 98/2000/ME/XP  i dunno if it would work on vista but if the dude above says it works then h**l go for it!

no the sims 2 you have now will not work on your windows vista.

There are some sims 2 that are made that can work on vista. You just have to check the requirements.

The newer released sims 2 are compatible with vista.

I own the sims (the originals with the expansion) and tried to use it on my windows vista, and it did not work, kept freezing up on me. It may work but it will not be the same

yeah it will, i got a vista laptop too and my sims 2 games are working brilliantly :)

Everything is compatable with 32 bit vista, as long as it's run in Win XP Compatability mode.

If you want to know if Vista and the Sims 2 are compatible it would be worthwhile to visit the official site. They have whole pages devoted to FAQ regarding the Sims 2 and Vista. This is basically what they say:

These cards aren't DirectX 9 compatible and may actually work fine, but are not Vista capable. As a result, graphics card manufacturers are unlikely to support Vista driver updates for these cards.
