Is the smart car electronic?

it is a tiny car supposedly good for the ecosystem, it sits 2 ppl, n its distributer is Smart USA, but is it electronic, i cant find anything that tells me that, but im new to car shopping, so i could be looking at the facts that tell me n not kno it

it is gasoline powered.  It does have electronic ignition like all other cars of this era

The current version is gasoline.

The MHD (micro hybrid drive) is being sold in France. 60mpg to the gas hybrid and 80mpg to the diesel hybrid. London is the city currently testing the MHD gas. Los Angeles may be the next city  for testing the MHD in 2009.

The electric smart is scheduled for 2010.

i work at the smart center at houston north and no they are not electric they run completely on gas they get 41 highway and 33 city and range from 11,590-16,590!!!
