  1. 14 it cant be! It must be at least 16. Here in England it's gone smoke free, there are the odd smokers around, if your not sure type in smoking age in italy in Google

  2. I don't know but I do know that you send your 10 year old to the Tobacconist and have him pick you up a carton of Lucky Strikes.

  3. no its 18!

  4. no its 16

  5. i know the drinking age is 12

and they don't really care one way or the other, if you give them the money for cigarettes, and they'll give them to you

  6. I think there's a new law which says the smoking age is now 18 but it has always been 16 .

ANYWAY , Italy is full of laws and is full of "ways to get rid of those laws" . In this case , if u look like u had 16 , they'll sell u cigarettes without asking documents . but u never know...

  7. That's confusing... I see everywhere people stating the legal age for selling and buying cigarettes is 16; but actually somebiody else state is 14.

The difference is: who claim it's 14 clearly state the source: "Regio decreto 24 dicembre 1934 n.2816".

The people who says 16 (including tobacconists and parents association) never state which is the law...

I saw that Regio Decreto and also what courts said about cigarettes vending machine in 1978 and in the 90s: in both circumstances, stating they're legal, they also say again the limit for selling is 14...

Anyway, in both cases the limit is for buying, not for smoking.

I suppose I'm going to ask to a consumers association...

    Still, smoking is bad.

    EDIT:

About the new law, it was proposed but not approved.
