Yes.  The ban for smoking in restaurants started back in June.

yes, it began in june. hopefully not too many restaurantes go out of buisness because of it.

Cabal is correct, the others aren't. The ban is in place in public places except bars and restaurants, which start next year. One bar near me has started it already when it changed owners a couple of months back.

About nine months back apparently, but you know the french.

Two fingers up and that's a vote for a strike.

It's a shame us Brits don't stand up for our beliefs.

We don't need to be guided, just to get rid of Gordons Brownies would be a start.

I blame it on the Brussells.

It started on the 1st  Feb 07 except for bars, restaurants and tobacco selling places.

The ban will start for those on 1st January 08. I am sooo waiting for that
