Is the so-called "Green Card" for real? Do you know some who has got it?

I'm Latin American and I neve tried to get a USA visa. But in hundreds sites on the net I see that banner "Do you want to miss you chance to Live and Work in the USA?"

Is it reall true? Does it work? Is it official? or what?

It's more curiosity than interest by my side.

Are you kidding me???? "so-called green card"  Of course green cards are real, they must be obtained from the INS, you must be employed or a student, and the first step is to pay the application fee.

Yes, it is real I had what they call 'Green Card' before my sitizenship. Now i am a citizen.

Yes it is real. But having a VISA is not Green Card = Permanent Residence. A visa is a for lenght of time, but a green card is permanent.

yes it is real. you sign up for it and the american government have draws each day and you can win one.

Be very careful.  There are a lot of web sites out their trying to rip people off.  If I were you I would go to the official web site, WWW.USCIS.GOV and educate myself as to the correct procedure.  Then you can see if there are companies that can help you with the process.  But before you can ask them questions and make sure that they are not steeling your money, you need to know with the process is.
