Is the speaker set up different with a stock cd player rather than an aftermarket one?? I have an amp that I need to set up. I want to hook up both my front and rear speakers to my 1000 watt amp but obviously I need to run these from my cd player. I just bought a stock CD player that is suppose to come with the car (instead of Tape Deck).

Does the wiring change any since I have a stock CD player?

  1. In a way it is a change. By, if you are going to connect the amp to a stock stereo you will need to purchase the adapter to make the stock radio and the amp connect together. Also with an aftermarket your sound will be clearer and the bass will be louder. I would just recommend buying an aftermarket radio since it will be easier to set up with an amp plus you can tune an aftermarket radio more then a stock radio.

  2. ok, depending on the CD player you got three wires you need to come off your CD player for your amp:

    2x phone (1 red plug, one white)

    1x amp remote (its like the power switch for the amp.

    you then need a permanment live from the battery to the amp and a negative (earth) [i wired my earth onto a s***w that goes into my boot floor - most cars are sound wit this.]

    Disconnect the origional speaker wires, and run new cables etc... long winded job if u dont no what your doing, and unluckily if you short it you can pop:

    * CD Player,

    * Amp

    * speakers

    so if you dont know, and dont wanna risk, take the gear to a shop n let them wire it, for the sake of 20 - 30 quid its worth it.

    depends what you wanna do, but diff sound systems av diff wiring configs, but for just changing the cdplayer you should be cool NORMALLY wit an adapter from halfords or something (usually 10-15 quid).  My corsa speakers were good standard, but i decided to wire mine up proper (since i popped my drivers side through playin it full wack lol) resulted in me buyin a vauxhall adapter from the clip -> standard speaker fixings...

    (however, if your good wit it, you *could* just snip n clip wires together - cheaper, but messier, specially if u plan to sell the car wit the origional player one day ;) )
