  1. whats a b road,<

  2. trouble is in uk...you get signs and you have to know what they mean?...and in the absence of any signs and if there are lamp posts 60 yards apart its assumed to be 30mph?...obviously very confusing...then uk always is...but as far as i know dual carriage ways dislaying the national speed limit are 70 mph the same as motorways.60 mph on single track roads displaying national speed limit...and any different speed limit will be marked and followed up with repeaters...and if im wrong?...ive been lucky with speed cameras...

  3. good question

    30 in towns

40 on approach to some towns then 30

    50 main roads

    60 dual carrigeways

    70 motorways

but if you drive vans and anythiong bigger it is

10 mph less than the speed limit for cars

    ie

50 for cars 40 for vans

60 on dual carriage ways 50 for vans

70 on motorways  60 for vans

even tbhoughb the white van man dont seem it it is

i am a white van driver myselve

  4. I have only been driving for 18 months but was taught that every road (except for motorways) are a 30 unless otherwise stated.ie clearey Marked.

  5. Yes 50 on B roads 60 on A roads and 70 on dual carriage-ways and motorways

  6. Dan`s got the right answer but I`ll add that lorries over 7.5 t are only permitted 40 mph on a single carriageway. Sadly ,no one has ever told their drivers.

  7. NOT guessing.

B roads have NEVER been 50mph...unless you are a goods vehicle UNDER 2.5 tonnes or a car towing something.

    For CARS.

Urban - 30mph unless indicated otherwise.

    A&B roads (SINGLE carriageway) - 60mph

    Motorways & DUAL carriageways - 70mph
