  1. yes the there is a big mis-nomer that speed is always equal to distance.  distance has more to do with leverage.  look at arnold palmer he is like 90 now and still  hits his drives 250plus.  he cant swing much faster than 90 mph, but he has leverage and hits the sweet spot.  the pros average around 115-130 so your not much off of the mark, but they hit it 280 and up.  im not saying power wont give you distance but the leverage created by hip rotation and weight shifting is where the true power is

  2. Yes it is possible.

I am just short of 6ft and weigh a good 17st. When I out drive my friend he goes its a weight advantage, and I just laugh at him because I know its not just that.

When I last checked my swing speed I was about 95mph tops and I was hitting the driver I was testing 280yards (this was only a 3/4 swing aswell because thats how I am)

If I try and swing fast I snap hook because I am all out of time. Your power does not only come from clubhead speed but from the timing of your body.

Getting your hips turning first on the downswing is crucial to nailing a drive.

I have recently started to slow my swing rate down to something like 85mph I would guess and this is helping my drives to not only stay straight but hit them just as long.

  3. Its very possible. you just have a very good technique i suppose.

If you feel that your swing speed is to low try a more flexible shaft as this will aid distance but in turn you may loose accuracy if you swing to fast.

I know many men who even use senior flex shafts becauyse there swing speed is low, speek to your club pro and he should tell you.

However if you hit your drives that long theres probably no problem lol

  4. no its not possible. If you are hitting it 85 or90 you must have a sand wedge.

  5. If your using a radar gun it won't work try using a camera with a measurement on the background and use slow motion.

Also it depends on your strength possible and type of ball being used

  6. If your talking about total distance it is possible. Hard fairways and higher altitude will cause the ball to go farther. With that swing speed you are probably carrying about 220 .

  7. I'm 5' 6" and weight 161 lbs. My club speed is 80 average drive between 240 to 260.

  8. yes im 5'11'' and 220lbs and drive the ball 230 to 250 and my swing speed is 96-100
