  1. Yes .

    In fact in the following groups it is the only generation that does photosynthesis -

    Gymnosperms( Conifers and Cycads) ,

    Angiosperms ( Both dicots and monocots, in fact all flowering plants )

    In the above two groups the gametophyte is extremely reduced and it depends on the sporophyte generation for its nourishment .

    The sporophytes in the above groups are dominant , and are provided with roots, stem and green leaves .

    In Pteridophytes ( Ferns, horsetails and club mosses) , both the generations ( Sporophyte and the gametophyte ) do photosynthesis .

    In Bryophytes ( Mosses and Liverworts ) It is the gametophyic stage that is dominant and it is photosynthetic .
