  1. The cycle time is the minimum time to conduct an operation, say a press that cycles in 30 seconds. Depending on the IE, you could also include the best case part load/unload time in the cycle time.

    Standard time is what is normally achievable, and is normally greater than the cycle time. Say the operator has to pull out the part, and hit a switch to restart the machine. If he has other duties, on the average, he needs a little more time to get everything done.

    So yes, standard time is generally greater than cycle time.
