There's far more of them than there are people in the developed world. Their consuming the world's resources at a faster growing rate than we are. China and India are prime examples.

  1. They multiply faster than they die off so it makes no difference.    If they lived longer and were able to get an education instead of scrounging for food every hour, the birth rate might go down.

  2. The "Earth" doesn't care.  It will go on with or without humans.

And people in the developed world shouldn't get too comfortable watching poor people starve.  If the resources are running out, then it's just a matter of time until the rich people start to starve.

  3. 1. Like eddygordo said, the earth doesn't care. But YOU should care because

    2. a lot of raw materials and even food from third world countries supply the needs of first world countries. Third world countries consume resources (metals, wood, fuel, not just food) for EXPORT to first world countries. If the current food shortage continues, they will jack up the prices of everything the developed countries are consuming so they can feed their own citizens.

    3. more people doesn't automatically mean more consumption. Developed countries, even if they have fewer people, consume and waste more of the world's resources than underdeveloped countries ever will. Because they can't afford to waste anything, people in poor countries use resources more efficiently.

  4. I'm not sure that most people would categorize India and China as third-world nations.

I would never call human starvation a positive thing.

However, the overpopulation issue will have to be addressed in many areas of the world.  Poor nations that cannot produce enough food to sustain their populous will have greater and greater problems with disease and famine.

  5. Now that is one callous thought from some supposedly civilised and developed human.

Europe and the USA have less than 20 percent of the world population but use nearly 50% of the worlds oil production. What kind of insight do you have abt that?

What about contributing to pollution..? Have you checked those facts?

Anyway well i suggest you read a  little bit more.

  6. better check how much is imported before you say something like that

and the starvation is not incidental it is allowed to happen by folks who think like you do.

  7. As far as the enviro movement is concerned,  the answer is yes.  Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd Society has advocated the extermination of at least 3 billion people, and many groups have been advocating a ban on pesticide use as a way to reduce the population of Africa by malaria and dengue fever.
