Is the story of the dexa cool in cars true?

does anyone know about this dexa cool is it all that bad dont seem to be too much fuss over it .Whats in it they dont like ?

  1. Dexcool is a good product been on the market since the 90s in GM cars. referred to as the orange coolant. problems occur when the orange and green are mixed.

    GM cars with the V6 engines (especially the 3.1 and 3.4L) have poor head gasket design as do the Cadillac Northstar.  Those cars with faulty headgaskets would likely fail regardless of the type of coolant.  

    If you flush out your system regularly you shouldn't have any coolant issues or overheat issues with your cars engine.


  2. Dex-cool is designed for specific cars. Just like the oil in your car, it requires a certain weight. The people complaining about it probably didn't need it. Be sure and check with a good parts guy before using Dex-cool.
