The summer in Ohio is warm to hot...anywhere between 75 degrees and 100 degrees, but it is usually in the 80s and 90s (right now we are having a cool down...it's been in the 70s for several days now).  The temperature is slightly cooler by the lake, but not enough to really make a difference.  The only time it is really noticeable is if it happens to be windy, but other than that, I would say it's not nice and cool.
