most of the ABs first choice players hardly played any S14 - they were on a 'reconditioning program' remember?

No! In fact I thing the players that were rested and conditioned may have enjoyed more action and benefited from participating more in the Super14. I felt sorry for players like Jerry Collins sitting in the family area spectating to watch his homeside "Hurricanes" lose...They should get out there and get back to grass roots rugby
