Is the superglue used in hospitals the same as normal superglue?

I'm curious to know if there is a 'medical grade' glue or is the glue used in hospitals the same as normal suerglue? I'm not planning any home surgery I just wondered if there was a difference.

Lol. No don't use it at home, ordinary superglue is toxic.

It also doesn't bond instantly

The glue used by doctors/vets dries instantly and you only use a tiiiiiny bit at a time. It comes in teeny little bottle - it's really cute! Normally used to seal a gap between stitches or just a little cut that won't stop bleeding..

no, they use a special formula superglue in hospitals, because the ordinary stuff would irritate human skin and so be really unsuitable for sealing wounds.

It's special medical superglue. Not your craft type stuff. You could use ordinary superglue, however it might lead to extreme skin irritation and I wouldn't recommend it!!

It's chemically very similar to "crazy glue" or "super glue" (I'm assuming you are referring to topical wound closure liquids).  It's medical grade, i.e. sterile for clinical use.
