Question:

Is the surf on the east coast (Florida) comparable to france and spain?

It's supposed to be small (Kelly Slater's home beach....)

but france is usually big.....how's that? It's the same ocean.....!!!?

  1. It depends if you like stinky water to surf in, try Australia or Sth Africa, nice, just watch out for the Great Whites!!!!

The difference is in the side of the ocean you are on.  The prevailing winds are from West to East which is why the European side of the Atlantic gets constantly better waves.  It's also why the West Coast gets better waves than the East Coast.  Ocean bathymetry and topography play a part too but without the winds it doesn't matter what your ocean floor looks like.

  3. I think either France or Spain has better surf. I live in Florida but I definitely know the surf in France is way better.

  4. i´m spanish and we have awesomes places to surf in the south and north of spain . In the south we have Tarifa, there are so greats surfers. Spanish surf´s places are good but american places are amazing: the ambient, the people... If I need to choose I´ll choose American´s coast ......Can you tell me how is my english?
